Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has sworn in six newly appointed High Court Judges, marking a significant moment in the state’s judicial system.

The swearing-in ceremony, held in Ilorin, reflects the administration’s continued commitment to ensuring justice, fairness, and the rule of law in Kwara State.

In his address, Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of the judiciary in maintaining a just society.

He noted that with the new appointments, his administration has overseen the swearing-in of 11 judges during his five-year tenure.

“I congratulate the newly appointed Judges and their families. I also celebrate your hard work and other noble qualities that brought you here. Today, you have been entrusted with the immense responsibility of upholding justice and ensuring that the rights of every citizen are protected,” the governor said.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed confidence in the ability of the judges to deliver justice impartially and urged them to be mindful of their impact on society.

Citing the famous words of Usman Dan Fodio, he reminded them: “A kingdom can endure unbelief, but it cannot endure with injustice.”

The governor further assured the judiciary of the state government’s continued support.

He highlighted recent renovations and remodeling efforts in the state’s courts, including the reconstruction of the former Revenue Court in Ilorin to provide additional courtrooms for judges. Plans for a new court complex were also mentioned as part of the administration’s long-term goals to enhance the judiciary.

In addition, official SUVs have been procured for the newly appointed judges, and Governor AbdulRazaq praised the cooperation between the judiciary, legislature, and security agencies in fostering development and maintaining peace in Kwara State.

“As you take on this noble task, remember that your decisions will shape the lives of individuals and the fabric of our society. Let us remain united in the pursuit of a greater Kwara State and Nigeria,” the governor concluded.

The ceremony was attended by top government officials, members of the judiciary, and other dignitaries.
