Kwara APC Inaugurates Campaign Council for Ekiti LG Elections, Warns Against Anti-Party Activities
The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its Campaign Council for the upcoming chairmanship election in Ekiti Local Government Area, scheduled for September 21, 2024.
The event took place on Sunday evening, with the campaign council named after the chairmanship candidates Awelewa Olawale and Olajide Caroline.
Prince Fagbemi Adeniran, the State Chairman of the APC, who also serves as the Chairman of the Campaign Council, emphasized the importance of unity among party members.
He named Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the state’s APC leader, as the grand patron of the campaign council.
During the inauguration, Prince Fagbemi urged all party members to work diligently at their respective units and wards to secure victory for the party.
He issued a stern warning against any acts of anti-party activities, threatening sanctions against those who fail to align with the party’s goals.
He called on members still harboring grievances from the party’s primary elections to set aside their differences and unite for the success of the party.
Chairmanship candidate Honourable Awelewa Olawale promised to uphold the principles of good governance, in line with Governor AbdulRasaq’s administration, if elected as the council chairman.
Director General of the Campaign Council, Otunba Taiwo Joseph, expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory across all polling units in the local government area.
He called on party members to intensify their efforts to defeat opposition parties.
Honourable Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, the lawmaker representing Ekiti Constituency, highlighted the achievements of the APC administration under Governor AbdulRasaq as a key message for the campaign.
He urged campaign council members and councillorship candidates to return to their wards and share the success stories of the state government, particularly in infrastructural and human capital development, to secure votes for the party.
Other notable APC leaders present at the inauguration included Honourable Bamigboye Olajire (Oke-Ero Constituency), Honourable Shola Odetundun (Irepodun Constituency), and Chief J.B. Ayeni, among others.
The campaign council comprises various directors and members, including Honourable Oladokun Kayode as Deputy Director General, and others who will oversee key aspects such as planning, mobilization, media, and security.
