NSCDC Kwara Command Boosts Investigation Skills Of Officers With Capacity Building

In a bid to strengthen the investigative and intelligence capabilities of its personnel, the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has conducted a two-day capacity-building seminar.

The event, held at the Kwara State Library Complex in Ilorin from August 14 to 15, 2024, was aimed at enhancing the analytical skills of officers in modern intelligence and investigative practices.

The seminar, themed “Enhancing Analytical Capabilities in Modern Intelligence and Investigative Practices,” saw the participation of over 300 intelligence officers drawn from various Area Commands and Divisional Offices across the state’s 16 local government areas.

In his opening remarks, the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, represented by DCC Yaqeen Rafiu Olanrewaju, the Head of the Intelligence and Investigation Department, stressed the importance of continuous learning for security personnel.

He urged the officers to leverage such training opportunities to stay ahead in the face of evolving security challenges.

Highlighting the significance of the seminar, ACG Stella O. Oladeye from the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja noted the increasing complexity of threats to national security, underscoring the need for ongoing professional development for officers.

The seminar featured experts from the National Human Rights Commission, the State High Court, and a prominent ICT firm in Ilorin, who provided participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge to improve their operational efficiency.
