Protest: Bauchi Govt. Imposes 24-Hour Curfew
The Bauchi state government on Monday, announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on the Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Bauchi state government, Mr Ibrahim Kashim and made available to newsmen.
According to him, the decision was imperative due to the deteriorating security situation in Azare, the capital of Katagum LGA and its environs, leading to destruction of public property, stealing and victimisation, among others.
“His Excellency, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the imposition, with immediate effect, of a 24-hour curfew in Katagum Local Government Area, in order to contain the situation.
“The governor has further directed all security agencies to wade into the matter and ensure that the hoodlums are fished out and brought to book.
“He also called on law-abiding citizens to cooperate with security agencies at this trying moment,” he said.
