Kwara State Fire Service on Sunday  Safeguard a Bakery in Ilorin from Inferno.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Department,  Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

On Sunday, July 28th, 2024, at about 17:44 hours the Kwara State Fire Service swiftly responded to a call at Halbash Bakery, Ita-Elepa junction, Ilorin.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the traditional bakery on fire. Despite the severity of the blaze, the courageous firefighters valiantly battled the inferno, gaining control by 18:18hrs, and extinguishing it thereafter.

Notably, the quick response of the Kwara State Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to the modern electric oven.

Additionally, nearby buildings were spared from the flames, thanks to the efforts of the firefighters.

Investigations revealed that the fire originated from the traditional oven in close proximity to a logs of wood, exacerbating the intensity of the blaze.

Prince Falade John, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, extended his sympathies to the victims of the fire, expressing hope for their swift recovery and restoration of what was lost.
