Kwara State Fire Service Embarks on Sensitisation of Market Women To Enhance Awareness

The Kwara State Fire Service embarked on a crucial initiative at Mandate Market in Ilorin on Tuesday 12th March, 2024 by launching a sensitization programme focused on enhancing the awareness of fire safety techniques and preventive measures among market traders.

Spearheaded by the dedicated efforts of the Media and Publicity department, under the leadership of Hassan Hakeem, the programme actively engaged with market vendors to impart valuable knowledge on fire safety.

Hakeem and his team strategically positioned themselves at six key locations within the market, ensuring broad coverage and accessibility for all participants.

Their commitment to addressing inquiries and concerns from curious individuals underscored the programme’s effectiveness in fostering understanding and preparedness.

Importantly, the sustained implementation of this initiative is ensured through the continued support and advocacy of the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon. AbdulQouwiy Olodo, who played a pivotal role in facilitating its launch this year.

Lastly, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, emphasized the importance of adherence to the fire safety precautions provided by the Media Department, urging market vendors to take them seriously.
