Gov AbdulRazaq Meets With Farmers Association, Unveils Gov’t Plans

Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Kwara State Governor/NGF Chairman said he met with representatives of different groups under the Kwara State Chapter of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), where I uunfolded government plans to support farmers, improve yields per hectare, guarantee bumper harvest and boost food security in the state.

As the farmers prepare for wet season farming, I told them to let our administration know some other things apart from what we currently do to support them. We will continue to work with farm clusters for the proper identification and empowerment of real farmers.

Nigeria, like many parts of the world, is going through a trying phase on food security. We must feed ourselves. That is paramount. We must bring down the cost of food. Nobody will come and do that for us.

I lauded the farmers for remaining in the farming business despite all the challenges in the agricultural sector, and reassured them of our partnership every step of the way.
