Kwara Gov, Emir, Senator, NUJ, Mourn Deputy Director Of Protocol Govt House, Timothy Nathaniel

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed shock and sadness over the death of Deputy Director of Protocol in Government House Mr. Timothy Nathaniel, whom he described as a “dedicated officer and a perfect gentleman”.

Mr. Nathaniel, who was former Secretary of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, died on Thursday after a brief illness.

He was also the former Chief Press Secretary to former Deputy Governor Mr. Peter Kisira.

The Governor sends his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the bureaucrat who was a friend to all while diligently discharging his duties.

The Governor urged Nathaniel’s family members and other mourners to take solace in his impactful life as a diligent and humble public officer.

Governor AbdulRazaq asked God to repose the soul of Mr. Nathaniel and to look after his family.

Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has commiserated with the state government over the demise of Deputy Director of Protocol to the Governor, Mr. Timothy Nathaniel, who died on Thursday.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in condolence issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, also commiserated with the leadership of the Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State Council over the unfortunate incidence.

The monarch described late Timothy Nathaniel as an astute media practitioner who served the state diligently with atmost commitments before he return to his lord.

The emir, on behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council consoled with the widow and entire family members of the deceased, the governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, members of the fourth estate of the relm in the state, friends and associates over the colossal and irreparable loss.

He prayed God to comfort the family and give them the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Also, Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha is deeply saddened by the death of Mr. Timothy Nathaniel Usman, the Deputy Director of Protocol in the Kwara State Government House.

Senator Mustapha describes Mr. Usman as an exemplary broadcast journalist and a dedicated public servant whose passing on Thursday evening has been described as untimely and devastating.

In a heartfelt message from his media office, Senator Mustapha extends his deepest condolences to the Kwara State Government, the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, where Mr. Nathaniel notably served as Secretary; and to his bereaved family.

Senator Mustapha’s thoughts are with Mr. Nathaniel’s immediate family, his colleagues at the Kwara State Television, the office of the Head of Service, and the broader media community in Kwara during this difficult time.

He earnestly prayed for the eternal rest of Mr. Nathaniel’s soul and for God to provide comfort and strength to his widow, children, family members, the NUJ in Kwara state.

Mr. Timothy Nathaniel Usman served with distinction in various capacities, including as the Chief Press Secretary to the former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Peter Kisira, and as a member of the Kwara State branch of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Also The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed grief over the transition of former Secretary of the council, Mr Timothy Nathaniel, describing it as a rude shock.

The council said the contributions of the ex-scribe in upholding the integrity and sanctity of the union in the face of past adversity and tribulations remain invaluable.

This is contained in a condolence statement issued in Ilorin last night by the state NUJ Chairman and Secretary, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Omotayo Ayanda respectively.

It added that Nathaniel, a former Chief Press Secretary to the former State Deputy Governor and Deputy Director, Government House, Ilorin, would be remembered as a dogged fighter and true comrade in union movement.

The council observed that attributes such as humility, professionalism and comradeship stood the former NUJ Secretary out among his peers in the world of pen and unionism.

While noting that the vacuum created with the transition of Nathaniel would be difficult to fill, the statement prayed Almighty God to uphold his family in this moment of mourning and grief.

“We received the news of the transition of Mr Timothy Nathaniel, our former Council Secretary with utmost disbelief and rude shock. He was a dogged fighter and comrade in a class of his own.

“His firmness in upholding the integrity and sanctity of the union in the face of past adversity and tribulations remain invaluable and indelible. A true comrade, he was in the affairs of the union.

“Notwithstanding this moment of grief, however, the state council of NUJ is comforted with the fine attributes such as humility, professionalism and comradeship that stood Mr Timothy Nathaniel out among his peers. He would also be remembered for his grooming and mentorship of front line journalists in the media industry”, the NUJ condolence statement partly read.

Correpondents’ Chapel Commiserates

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State Council also commiserated with the Kwara State Governor, and journalism fraternity in the state and beyond over the demise of Mr. Timothy Nathaniel.

The deceased was a Deputy Director of Protocol in the Kwara Government House before his sudden death.

In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Chapel, Abdulhakeem Garba, and Kayode Abdulazeez, respectively, the chapel commiserated with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and entire members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state for the irredeemable loss.

The chapel described the deceased as a quintessential journalist, who displayed a high level of professionalism and great leadership quality during his lifetime as a professional journalist with the Kwara State Television Authority (KWTV) and as former Secretary of the Union at the state council.

The chapel prayed for the repose of the soul of the fallen colleague and urged his family to take solace in the fact that Nathaniel will be remembered on the posi­tive side of history as a great and nice person.

The NUJ SOBI FM Chapel also condoled with the Kwara state government, the Kwara state council of the NUJ and the Journalists across the state over the sudden passing of a seasoned journalist and the Deputy Director of Protocol to the Kwara state government Timothy Nathaniel.

In a statement released by the chapel, jointly signed by Chairman Dare Akogun and Secretary Hameedah Oladimeji, described the death of the former Kwara council secretary as shocking.

The statement described him as a thoroughbred professional whose contributions to the field of journalism were highly regarded starting from his time at Kwara State Television and as Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Former Deputy Governor Peter Kisira between 2011 – 2015.

“The loss of Timothy Nathaniel has left a void in the journalism community, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

“The NUJ SOBI FM Chapel joins in mourning his passing and extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” the statement said.

The statement prayed God Almighty to grant the deceased eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Kwara NAWOJ also expressed shock over the Death of Deputy Director of Protocol to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mr Timothy Nathaniel.

The Association Commiserated with the Kwara State Governor, Nuj Family and the Immediate Family of the Deceased.
Mr Timothy was a Prolific Writer and Perfect Gentleman to the core who will be remembered as a Thorough and Professional Bred Journalist.

In a statement signed by Chairperson Ayobola Ipinlaiye and Secretary Ganiyat Adedeji prayed Almighty God to Rest his Soul and Continue to be with the Family he left behind.

NUJ Kwara TV Chapel has also described the death of it’s one Time chairman and Secretary as shocking and heartbreaking.

His immense contributions to the Development of our Chapel will be greatly missed.

In a statement signed by the Chairman Bolaji Gobir and Secretary Ganiyat Adedeji prayed Almighty God to continue to be with the family he left behind and rest his soul.
