By Idris Ayinde
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state says he embarked on ‘massive’ road constructions and rehabilitation in order to improve the security and economic activities of the state.
Mohammed stated this at the flagging off ceremony of a 29 kilometres road project held at Lere District of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, “the move to construct rural roads network linking communities along the corridors of Boi, Gambar, Sara, Marti and Lere in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local government areas is to improve security and economic activities in the area.
“Our government will also execute similar projects across the state under Rural Agricultural and Mobility Project RAMP, a Work Bank Assisted Programme”.
Similarly, the governor also inaugurated a 42-kilometre road project from Geljaule to Lame District of Toro Local Government Area of the state.
Mohammed, who explained that the project would cos a total sum of N14.2 billion, said the gesture was a fulfillment of the promises made during the electioneering campaign.
He therefore charged the State Ministry of Works and Transport to ensure that the contractors adhere strictly to the timeframe and project specification.
Earlier, the General Manager of Habibu Engineering Nigeria Limited handling the project said the company was ready to give all its resources to deliver a standard project.
