Vandals Cart-Away Cables, Disrupt Operation At Radio Nigeria – Harmony FM Idofian (Photos)

Radio Nigeria – Harmony FM station, Idofian, Kwara State was in the early hours of today, vandalized by suspected electric cable thieves

Items affected include armoured cable and the transformer, with the generator house also touched.

Staff on duty including the Security Guard were manhandled and tied by the vandals before carrying out the criminal act which lasted for over three hours.

Engineer Kamal Okunola who reported on morning duty at 5 a.m.,  however,  said the criminals disrupted their operations and took to their heels on motorcycles.

He narrated what happened

Addressing newsmen in Ilorin, Assistant Director, Programmes, Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora disclosed that the armoured cables vandalized are worth millions of naira with the Station now off-air

Hajia Abubakar-Mora appealed for assistance from the State Government to get the Station back on air.

Three FM Stations belonging to Radio Nigeria have been vandalized in the past few months.
