Osun Assembly Passes New Towns & Growth Areas Development Authority Establishment Review Bill

The Osun State House of Assembly has passed the Osun State New Towns & Growth Areas Development Authority Establishment review bill.

The aforementioned bill was passed on Thursday during the Plenary of the House of Assembly with the motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Babajide Kofoworola and seconded by Hon. Lawrence Adeoti representing Ife South State Constituency respectively.

The Speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun in his remark noted that the bill would assist and enhance the development of the cities and towns across the state.

He confirmed that the bill has many benefits to achieve with the passage of the bill.

According to him, the bill will have many benefits to the people and the entire state at large.

He ordered to forwarding of the bill to the executive governor Ademola Adeleke for its ascent.

In the same view, Hon. Abiola Jeremiah representing Ife Central State Constituency while presenting the Policy Thrust of Osun State Employment Trust Funds emphasised that the bill would cater for the active workforce in the state.

He noted that the bill if passed into law would create funds for the workers and assist youths to be gainful employed.

He said that the state would enjoy lots of benefits from international donors.

In their various contributions, the lawmakers noted that the youths across the state would benefit from the passed bill.

They confirmed that the bill would create an enabling environment for the youths in Osun.

They noted that the bill affirmed the seriousness of the state and allowed youths to have access to funds.

They also noted that the bill would create entrepreneurship skills among the youths in the state.

They said, “This is an impactful bill if passed into law in the state because it enhances employment”.

“This will encourage the youths across the state to feel at home” they added.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun in his remark affirmed that the bill has enough advantages to the state.

He added that a series of benefits would be achieved in the passage of the bill.

The bill then scaled through a second reading at today’s plenary.

Also, the lawmakers dissolved into the Committee of the Whole for further consideration of Osun State High Court & Customary Court of Appeal Registrar, Secretary to Osun State Judiciary Service Commission, Solicitor General of the State Ministry of Justice, Osun State Magistrate & District Customary President retirement Age bill 2023 with the motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Babajide Kofoworola and seconded by Hon. Oladiran Olatunbosun representing Ilesa East State Constituency respectively.

The corrections and amendments were made to the title, long title, Clause 3 and all amendments and corrections made to form part of the mentioned bill.
