KWSG Assures Tertiary Education Stakeholders of Qualitative Service Delivery

 

 

The Kwara State Government has assured stakeholders in the Tertiary Education sector of an enhanced progression in terms of qualitative service delivery.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Ronke Ayinde gave the assurance during a familiarization tour of state-owned tertiary institutions in the Kwara South axis of the state on Tuesday.

Dr. Arinde appraised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his huge investments in the Tertiary Education Sector.

At the International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, Ajase-Ipo, the Rector, Engr. (Dr.) Salihu Swanru Yaru sought the state government’s approval and support on the need to review the college edict and upgrade the institution to a Polytechnic status.

Engr. Yaru called on professional Public Servants across MDAs, especially on the need to enrol with the college in the areas of technical skills that would enhance their job performance and be able to generate extra income.

The Rector added that such training would be certified in conjunction with the state government and be equivalent to a College Diploma, Advanced Certificate, and productivity enhancement, among others.

He advised the youths and public officers across MDAs to acquire skills acquisition that would be beneficial in generating extra income and also cushion the effects of the present economic hardships in the country.

Engr. Yaru appreciated the state government for the recent training and empowerment of over 400 students of the college, adding that this would reduce unemployment to the barest minimum and equally empower more youths to be employers of labour.

The IVTEC boss also sought synergy and collaboration with other government agencies to patronize the college in the areas of woodwork, metal fabrication, vehicle maintenance, heating ventilation, air conditioning repairs, and maintenance, among others.

 

 

At the College of Health Technology, Offa, the Provost, Dr. AbdulRauf Aliyu applauded the present administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for investing in the institution.

The Provost disclosed that the present administration had rescued the college in the areas of accreditation of courses and provision of state-of-the-art practical equipment to enhance the learning process by the students.

Dr Aliyu also appreciated the efforts of the state government for being responsive to the yearnings of the college at all times.

Similarly at the College of Education, Oro, where the Provost, Professor Mukaila Ayanda Aremu expressed satisfaction with the state government’s investment in the education sector, suggested an upgrade of the College to a State University of Education.
