President Tinubu To Inaugurate 15 Projects in UNILORIN
President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend the University of Ilorin 37th and 38th combined convocation of the University of Ilorin and also inaugurate about 15 new projects completed by the University management.
This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Wahab Egbewole at the press briefing to mark the Convocation Ceremonies of the University on Wednesday in Ilorin.
Egbewole said “The Visitor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will commission some projects at the various sites on our campus by 2 p.m. on Monday, 33rd of October, while the day’s event will be rounded off with the Convocation Luncheon and Merit Awards to deserving staff members.
Part of the projects to be inaugurated include lecture rooms, Faculty and Departmental buildings among others” he added.
Giving details of the ready-for-commissioning infrastructures, Egbewole said “Faculty of Basic and Clinical Science Building, Advancement Centre Building, Department of Anatomy building, Extension of University Clinic, Department of Chemical Engineering Building, Faculty of Engineering 400-seater capacity studio, Faculty of Engineering 500-seater capacity lecture theatre 1 and 2.
Others include “Construction of four (4) bedroom apartment for (cones) & perimeter block wall fence, Asphalt overlay on the existing road from University gate to Senate building phases (1 and 2), Asphalt overlay on existing road from University main campus to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (phase 5), Asphalt overlay on the road at UNILORIN GRA Staff Quarters, construction of road from NOC to faculty of Art and Law and Construction of road to the University Primary School,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor also listed some ongoing projects initiated by his administration including the construction and furnishing of 4 bedroom bungalow at Aran-Orin, the completion and furnishing of the Abuja Liadon Office, the Construction and furnishing of the English Drama Studio, the construction and furnishing of the Department of Home Economics and Food Sciences, among others.
