Tinubu Appoints Adedeji As Acting FIRS Chairman

The special adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on revenue, Zacch A. Adedeji has been appointed as the acting chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Adedeji’s appointment was confirmed on Thursday by a member of the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Akin Akinwale.

The newly-appointed acting Chairman of FIRS is an accountant, corporate tax and public finance development expert.

A First-Class graduate of Management and Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, he has over 15 years of experience in corporate accounting.

Adedeji, who served as a commissioner in the first term of the APC administration of the late governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi between 2011 and 2015, was named among those appointed as aides to President Tinubu in June.

He was appointed as the fifth substantive Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) in March 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
