No way! You can’t remarry once you divorce – Pastor

A man of God, Rev. Felix Ajide of King Jesus Praiseland Assembly, Ilorin, has said that Christianity forbids a divorcee from remarrying.

Many have also noted that the only condition for remarrying is when the estranged partner is no more, or when a partner loses his or her spouse.

According to Ajide, Matthew 5:31-32, explains the situation divorce will be allowed.

He said the only ground for divorce in Christianity was found in the said chapter, which was unfaithfulness, and when a person is divorced he or she cannot remarry.

“Due to the situation, some people find themselves in, they try to bend the rules and rewrite the Bible to suit them, but divorce is not in God’s programme.

“The reason why the rate of divorce is alarming in the 21st century is that Christians sideline the Bible and do things for their convenience, thereby bringing the world into the church.

“You cannot marry the world with the Bible. When you want to do things the way it is done in the world, then you are against God,’’ Ajide said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

“The scripture is the manual through which we were created, so we need to go back to it, the husband must go back to the traditional role of loving his wife and the wife must be submissive to him, ” he said.

Meanwhile, some prominent Christians, including pastors, have lost their marriages.

Among such pastors are Chris Okotie and Chris Oyakhilome, who are, however, not known to have remarried.
