NSCDC Parades 12 Suspected Criminals in Ekiti
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti Command, has paraded 12 suspected criminals for conspiracy, cultism and illicit drug deals.
The State Commandant, Mr John Fayemi, paraded the suspects at the counter-terrorism base in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
The ages of the suspects (names withheld) range between 17 years and 39 years old.
Fayemi commended the efforts of the Counter Terrorism Unit of NSCDC to trace the syndicate from Ado-Ekiti to where they were arrested.
He expressed surprise by the extent of illicit drug dealing in some local governments.
The commander, therefore, appealed to the traditional rulers to safeguard the forests from marauders, kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals.
He also said the government would continue to protect the people from man-made problems.
The NSCDC boss listed the items recovered from the suspects to include three Bajaj motorbikes, cannabis sativa, Tramadol, raps of drugs, phones of various brands and charms.
The suspects will be charged in court as soon as preliminary investigations are concluded.
