Egbewole Hails Sulaiman’s Appointment As FUHS Pro-Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has felicitated a foremost medical practitioner and politician, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, on his appointment as the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

In a statement signed by the Director, Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the appointment of the renowned Neurosurgeon as apt and well deserved as it would definitely facilitate the progress of the University and medical training in Nigeria.

Prof. Egbewole noted that the appointment is an instance of a marriage between the ivory tower and relevant professionals.

The Vice Chancellor added that he was particularly happy as Prof. Sulaiman would be working with products of the University of Ilorin such as the Registrar of the University, Mr Kassim Kayode Babamale and the Provost of the institution’s College of Medicine, Prof. Aishatu Ahmed Gobir, among others, who are already working at the new University.

The Vice Chancellor said that President Muhammadu Buhari could not have made a better choice of Council Chairman for the new institution, saying that Prof. Sulaiman is sufficiently equipped with what is required to stimulate the progress of the University.

While urging the world renowned medical practitioner to see his appointment as an opportunity to prove his mettle, Prof. Egbewole urged the new Council Chairman to deploy his vast knowledge, experience and contacts to assist the new institution in attracting the best in terms of human and material resources for it to achieve its corporate objectives.

The Vice Chancellor wished the new Chairman a very fruitful and peaceful tenure of office.
