Police Nab Elderly Men For Kidnapping After Raking In Over N20m
The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested four suspected kidnappers, including a 65-year-old man, identified as Dr. Adepetu Olushola.
This development was confirmed by the Command’s Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, at a news briefing on Tuesday.
Other suspects arrested in connection with the allegation of kidnapping are Moruf Yusuf, 60; Rasak Oyinlola, 55; and Israel Emenoge, 42.
Owohunwa said three among the suspects were arrested at their warehouse: A three-bedroom flat at Lucky Fiber around Ita-maga.
The CP further explained that the suspects formed the gang in October 2022 and have cumulatively realised the sum of N20.7 million.
This incident, stressed the CP, was reported some time in December.
He said: “This is a case of kidnapping reported sometime in December.
“The victim quickly reached out to the police and the investigation led to the arrest of Moruf Yusuf, who was arrested in Oyo State.
“Further investigation led to the arrest of the trio of Rasak Oyinlola, Dr. Adepetu Olushola, owner of Mighty Hands Herbal, Irawo, and Israel Emenoge at their warehouse – a three-bedroom flat at Lucky Fiber around Ita-maga.
“The suspects formed their gang in October 2022 and have cumulatively actualised the sum of N20,700,000.00.
“Items recovered at the scene of the crime include one Nissan Pathfinder with registration number EPE 575 CP, one Toyota Sienna with registration number KRD 582 ES, one Handcuff, one Taser, and one pepper spray.
“Suspects will be charged to court at the completion of the investigation. (The Eagle)
