Assembly Poll: Adeleke, AbdulRazaq Declare Friday Public Holiday

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Kwara State Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have declared tomorrow Friday, March 17th as a public holiday.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed on Thursday, and Kwara state Head of Service, Mrs Susan Oluwole in Ilorin.

According to the governors, the holiday is to enable Osun and Kwara State residents travel to their polling units to vote on Saturday for the State House of Assembly elections.

The State Governors further advised residents of the state to be peaceful and law abiding as they prepare for the elections

“This holiday is to enable Osun State residents travel to their polling units to vote on Saturday for the State House of Assembly elections.

I call on Osun people to file out and exercise their civic rights. This election is very critical as you will be electing lawmakers who will be working with me. You must vote right”, the statement from Osun reads.

The Kwara Head of Service said the holiday was to give an ample opportunity to prepare and travel to their respective local government and location for governorship and House Assembly elections on Saturday.

Voters are advised to freely exercise them voting franchise and be law abiding during and after the elections.
