Kwara Assembly Approves Tenure Extension of Acting Auditor General, Fatai Tiamiyu

The Kwara State House of Assembly has approval for a six month tenure extension of Acting Auditor General of Kwara State.

The decision followed a letter received from Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara requesting legislative approval for an additional 6 Months Tenure Extension for the Acting Auditor General of Kwara State, Fatai Adeyemi Tiamiyu which ended on 28th January, 2023.

The speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu who presided at the plenary had earlier read the governor’s letter to the house.

My Speaker after reading the letter noted that the case of appointment of substantive Auditor General is still in court.

The Hon. House in line with sec. 126(3) of the 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, approved an additional 6-month tenure extension starting January 29th, 2023 for the Acting Auditor General of Kwara State by the Resolution of the Honourable House.

The House unanimously voted in favour of the request of the Governor.

The Clerk to the House was subsequently directed to communicate the Resolution to Governor accordingly.

Mr Speaker also announced the presence of Teachers and Students of Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Ilorin who were at the Gallery to watch the day’s proceedings.

Then, the motion for Adjournment was moved by the Deputy House Leader, Hon. Bello John Olarewaju (Lanwa/Ejidongari) and seconded by Hon. Owolabi O. Rasaq (Share /Okeode).
