Crown Hill University: New Vice Chancellor Assumes Office, Pledges All Inclusive Open-Door Administration (Photos)

Prof. Jeleel Ojuade, the new Vice Chancellor, Crown Hill University, Ilorin, assumed office on Monday with a pledge to run an all inclusive, open door, approachable, accountable and transparent administration.

Speaking at his investiture and assumption of office, the new VC said he would rule with fear of God and reward results and saction indolence and dishonesty.

According to him, I will be fair and firm, reposition the University to produce graduate of global reckoning in ‘deed and in truth’ in ‘learning and character.’

“I will upload global best practices among other aims, be purposive and not punitive, decisive and not vindictive. So help me God.

“If I have allay your fear by my assurances, and gone ahead to have a social contract signed sealed and delivered (figuratively speaking), certainly, I ask of you some obligations as well.

“I solemnly ask of you all to: Cooperate with the new authority and management.

“Embrace a new culture and work ethics, innovation and creativity; Be ready to tighty your belts and sacrifice as we get out of this rut.

“Be prepared to go beyond the call to duty; take ownership of the university, your roles and responsibilities; Be innovative and resourceful and creative,” he said.

Prof Ojuawo gave his highest esteem assurances to the University Community of a better tomorrow, job security, better welfare, grow and development of the institution.

In his message on behalf of the 8 Universities in Kwara State (KUA 8), Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole welcomed and wished the new Vice Chancellor successful tenure.

He urged the university community to cooperate with him towards achieving his vision and mandate.

Also, the Chancellor and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, who was represented by the High Chief of Ife assured the university of support and prayed for the success of the new Vice Chancellor in office.

The high point of the event include the performance and dance by the students of Performing Arts Department, University of Ilorin, Kwara State University (KWASU) and Ayangalu Dance Troupe among others.

The new VC is a professor of Performance and Cultural Studies with particular emphasis in dance studies and practice.
