Olajide Blessing: Yaman Commiserates With Parents, Students

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman has again commiserated with students across the state, parents, families and friends of a late 24-year-old student, Olajide Blessing, who was raped and murdered in her family house in Tanke, Oke Odo, Ilorin on June 2, 2021.

In a statement issued in Ilorin on Thursday by his special adviser on media and strategy, Abdulwahab Oba, the gubernatorial candidate said it was sad, cruel and devastating that the life of such a brilliant, innocent student could be dastardly cut short at her prime.

Alhaji Yaman said the activities of the culprits underscore the need to re-established our traditional core values of honour, dignity, discipline and respect for the sanctity of lives at various levels of our education system.

“Concerted efforts must be made by all and sundry, especially teachers, parents and governments, to re-enact the essential decency of our people in schools, through which we can build a more prosperous state”, Yaman said.

The PDP flag bearer commended the judiciary for expeditiously dispensing the matter and the police for the thorough investigation and diligent prosecution.

He prayed God to console the families and friends of Olajide Blessing urging them to take heart with her untimely death.
