Omupo Community Lauds Gov AbdulRazaq’s Developmental Strides, Pledges Support

Omupo community, through the Omupo Descendants Union (ODU), led by its National President, Dr Monisoye Sola Afolabi has assured the Kwara state government and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of the community’s unalloyed support to move the state forward.

The community, in a statement signed by the Community’s Publicity Committe Chairman, on behalf of the President, Rev Felix Ajide appreciated the on-going dialogue with the state government to enhance the development of Omupo in particular and the state in general.

The community, however, dissociated itself from the allegation that the State Government did not supply 100 units of furniture to LGEA Schools in Omupo.

The community also made it clear that the Open letter to the Governor, authored by one of the politicians in the town was not authorized by the Omupo community.

“Even if the contents of the document are true as indicated, Omupo community has its ways of raising issues with the Government for amicable and effective resolution.

“Omupo community, therefore, supports the government and appreciates on-going dialogue with government to enhance the development of Omupo community.

“Members of the community are also excited that the State Government has concluded arrangements to include Omupo schools in the next Action Plan of SUBEB.”

The Government’s spokesperson, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye said the schools in the community couldn’t have benefitted from such because it would amount to diversion, which the government frowns at.

He said the government expects SUBEB to extend its intervention to schools in Omupo and other communities not yet benefitting from its interventions.

The community, therefore, expressed gratitude to the state Governor, Malam AbdulRazaq for his laudable efforts toward repositioning the state and ensuring its development.
