Imo Hosts Nigerian Guild Of Editors Conference, November

 

Preparations are in top gear for this year’s All Nigeria Editors Conference, ANEC, scheduled to hold from November 9 to 12, 2022, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

A statement by the General Secretary, Iyobosa Uwugiaren, says that, this year conference is carefully designed to interrogate the political landscape, with a theme “Political Landscape, Credible Elections And The Role Of Editors.’’

“The goal of the 18th ANEC conference is to achieve near consensus among senior editors, media owners, managers – in shaping constructive, objective and productive narrative before, during and after the 2023 general election – in order to achieve credible and peaceful elections in the general interest of our nation”, the statement stated.

According to the statement, “the gathering will also afford the editors, the huge opportunity to discuss issues affecting their profession and proffer solutions that will enhance its practice in the country.

The statement advised all members to pay the conference fee and the Membership Annual Dues on or before October 31, 2022, to enable the Guild make adequate preparation towards a hitch free conference.

The Guild thanked members for their continued support in participating in previous conferences and wished them safe trip to Owerri, the Imo state capital.

Over 500 Editors from the Print, Electronic and Online News Media are expected to participate in the three day conference that will also witness tour of projects embarked upon by Governor Hope Uzordinma’s administration. (NAN)
