Osun Assembly Launches E-Parliament

The State of Osun House of Assembly has launched e-Parliament platform to enhance its legislative activities.
The Speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye launched the e-Parliament at the House of Assembly Complex Osogbo.
Hon. Owoeye in his Keynote Address at the official launch on Wednesday acknowledged the efforts of Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) for putting everything together.
He noted that e- Parliament is a proper standard of this global era.
He said that e-Parliament platform would made it easier to get access to global world in shortest time.
He observed that the launching of e-parliament in the State House of Assembly would enhance trust in legislative duties.
According to him, the e-parliament platform made it easier to get access to global world.
“Out of 170million mobile phone users in Nigeria, 15.4% of 170 million peoples are social media user,” he added.
It would be recalled that during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Owoeye ensured sustainability of the project.
In his welcome note, the Team Leader Kimpact Development Initiave Mr. Bukola Idowu described Osun state as the best state in E-parliament in Nigeria.
He ensured that e-parliament would serve as good partnership between state government and House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, in their various goodwill messages, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters Hon. Kamil Oyedele and Commissioner for ICT in Osun Dr. Babatunde Olawale noted that the project is in accordance with global era.
They acknowledged the efforts of KDJ for putting things into effective on e-parliament.
However, during the Unboxing the e-parliament platform the Senior Programme Manager KDI, Mr. Oluwafemi Adebayo noted e-parliament is a framework that is necessary for development of legislative assignments.
