Fire Guts Seven Self-contained Apartments In Ilorin

Fire gutted seven self-contained apartments in an eleven self-contained residential building at GQ Hostel, in Yakuba Area of Ilorin Kwara State.

The fire incident occurred at about 12:13hrs, on Wednesday, 28th September, 2022, as a result of power surge.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Hassan Adekunle,  Head of Department, Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service

Firemen were able to perform excellently well by immediately stopping the spread of the raging fire, and subsequently eliminated it.

This firemen’s technicality approach totally saved the other apartments of the building from the scathed inferno.

He gave the summary as follow:  “the total estimated property saved was N10.6million, and the total estimated property lost was N3.8million.”

However, the Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa expressed sadness over the incident, and therefore urged the general public to always play safe at their various domains.
