Gov AbdulRazaq Dedicates NUJ Award to Kwarans

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has dedicated the NUJ Correspondent’s Chapel Human Capital Development Advocate Award that he received in Ilorin on Thursday to the great people of Kwara State and all members of his team for their contribution to making governance meaningful.

Represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, the Governor said the award would motivate his administration to continue prioritising and delivering on the basic needs of Kwarans.

He said this at the annual Pess Week Award Night of the Correspondent Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Kwara State Council.

‘Our dream is to make Kwara the number-one success story in Nigeria in accessing quality public education and impressive learning outcome, potable water, affordable and qualitative basic healthcare services, reduced poverty, infrastructural development, and everything that boosts inclusive growth, among other key indicators of human capital development.”

The Governor appreciated the Correspondent Chapel for the award and therefore called for the commitment and support of all stakeholders, including the media, to deliver to the people of Kwara the dividends of democracy.

In his welcome speech, the correspondent Chapel Chairman, NUJ, Kwara State, Mallam Abdulhaken Garba acknowledged the fruitful partnership with the government without compromise of work ethics.

He thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for being exceptional and for the motivation and rejuvenation given to state owned media houses in Kwara. He implored the government to factor in their interest in decisions and governance.
