FRSC Cmdr urges motorists to reduce carnage on roads

Nigerians especially motorists have again been called upon to make safety their watchword to protect lives and property and reduce carnage on major roads.
The Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps Baruten Unit Command, Olakunle Ademarati who gave the advice at Okuta while speaking at a public enlightenment programme organized by a Corps member, Kenkpo Charles for Okada riders inconjunction with FRSC RS8.16 Baruten Unit Command.
Ademarati noted that the main thrust of the programme was to call the attention of the people to the menace of underaged riders and the Students calling on parents not to allow their underaged kids to ride okada as the Command would clamp down on them.
He encouraged other Corps members to come up with ideas and enlightenment programmes to reshape the society for better.
The Corps member, Charles with State code KW/21b/1074 Call up number NYSC/UPP/2021/148003, serving at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Okuta, said his observation on the way Okada riders convey Students without adequate safety measures prompted him to organize the programme.
The Corps member promised to follow up the attitude of the Okada riders to monitor improvement on the issues discussed.
Goodwill messages from other stakeholders harped on the need to be safety cautious when riding motorcycles.
In attendance were OC Custom service, Nigeria Police Force, Corps members, Principal of some schools, Okada riders and students from some schools in Okuta.
