Kwara Fire Service Prevents Petrol Tanker From Catching Fire

The Kwara State Fire Service has prevented a fully loaded petrol tanker from catching fire in front of the State College of Education, Technical, Lafiaji.
The accident occurred at about half past seven this morning at Lafiaji headquarters of Edu Local Government area.
The terrible accident led the petrol tanker to fall on its side and thereby resulted to the profuse leakage of the petroleum products on the road.
However, Firemen were able to reach the scene of the accident on time to stop the leaking fuel, and kept cooling the tanker in order to prevent any forms of fire outbreak until the whole siphoning process was completed.
An eyewitness said the fallen tanker was on high speed and in the process lost control and eventually tumbled down the road side.
Though no life was lost, the Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince John Falade urged the tanker drivers to avoid over speeding and be safety conscious, especially when transporting any high sensitive materials.
